Having trouble choosing a career or a program of study at RCC? We can help with that! The College Transfer and Career Development Center is located in the student advising center. Our career counselor is here to assist you with your career exploration and planning needs. The career counselor uses various tools during individual counseling sessions including career assessments (like interests, matching your skills and then values with careers) information about college transfer and resources for 2-year and 4-year schools, and job information (including job description, starting salary, education requirements).
The College Transfer and Career Development Center also hosts career planning workshops and events throughout the year including, individual college visits, the college transfer Fair, and the career expo. The College Transfer Fair is hosted each fall semester and gives students the chance to talk to multiple four year colleges and universities at one event. We typically have 20 schools attend and have large universities as well as small private colleges in attendance. The Career Expo is an annual event held each spring and is open to both RCC students and the community. It’s a great opportunity to make connections, get ideas about your interests, see the businesses that are hiring in the area, and maybe even-fill out an application for a job! The College Transfer and Career Development-center also hosts NC Works and LinkedIn Jobs.
